The East Ohio District serves local churches by helping better prepare those who want to effectively and confidently answer their call to local church and community ministry. We help you develop your understanding of God’s Word, grow in your theological understanding, and gain practical ministry skills.

 

Whether you feel called to pursue pastoral ministry and are working toward ordination, or you feel called to serve in the local church in some way and are seeking to be better equipped for what God has called you to do, the School of Ministry is for you.

 

Classes

 

Classes are 8 weeks long and meet once a week on Zoom. Each class requires a commitment of 10-15 hours/week including class time, reading, projects/assignments, and practical ministry experience.

  

All 21 classes will be offered over a 3-year period and the two required classes of the six needed for a first-time District License will be offered annually.

NCOS — Non-Degree Course of Study

East Ohio District School of Ministry

The East Ohio District is committed to helping prepare ministers and ministry leaders to effectively and confidently answer God’s call to local church and community ministry.

​

Through the Non-Degree Course of Study (NCOS), we help you:

• Develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word

• Grow in your theological understanding

• Develop practical ministry skills

• Become better equipped to serve your local church and community

• Prepare for the educational requirements associated with pastoral ministry and ordination

Classes

NCOS classes are 8 weeks long and meet once a week on Zoom.

Each class requires approximately 10–15 hours per week, including:

• Class time

• Required reading

• Projects and assignments

• Practical ministry experience

All 21 courses will be offered over a three-year period. The two required courses among the six courses needed for a first-time District License will be offered annually.

District Educational Scholarship

The District Advisory Board of the East Ohio District has committed to supporting our ministers as they pursue their educational requirements.

If you currently hold a District License or Local License, the East Ohio District will provide a $75 scholarship per student, per class.

We are encouraging local churches to match the District’s $75 scholarship for each student taking a class.

 

When the District provides $75 and your local church provides an additional $75, your portion of the class cost will be:

$25 Registration Fee + Required Textbooks
