| Resurrection Greetings! Christ is Risen! As we write this newsletter to you on Easter Sunday, we pray that the same power that conquered the grave lives in you and the same love that rescued the world lives in you. We're greatful for your continued support and prayer. We're nearing the end of the mission training, and the work of planting churches will begin. We've overseen this large group of 40/40 missionaries for over 7 months now. It has been an extremely challenging job, but God has helped us. Again, we can't tell you how much your prayers have helped us. There is a huge openness to the good news of Jesus. The Holy Spirit has gone ahead of us and is preparing the way for this work. Several of our 40/40 pairs have already begun to start one church during this time of training. Already there have been many who have already found new life in Christ and are meeting weekly with our 40/40's for discipleship and worship. Drew and Victorino went last week to Tamshyacu, one of the locations where they are planting a church. It is about an hour away by boat from where we live. They went to look over the town and get information. They talked with on gentleman, and in the course of the conversation they were able to lead him into relationship with Jesus. This gentleman said that next week his family will be there and that he would like to open up his house to start a church! They went again yesterday and met in this gentleman's home. There were 5 other people who were there during this meeting and they gave their lives over to Jesus during this meeting! Brad and Britaldo and Katie and Priscila, two of our other pairs have begun work in one of the locations where we had a medical clinic. They have visited many houses and only one person has not received them. Many have already began a relationship with Jesus through their work already and have they have been meeting weekly with several groups! Dalila and Melissa started work in one of their locations several months ago. They have been meeting regularly with people who have turned their lives over to Christ. |
We are amazed at the openness to Jesus here, and we can't praise God enough for all he is doing already. We anticipate God doing amazing things in the next several months. While there have been amazing victories already for God and his Kingdom, we have also experienced much attack from the enemy upon group spiritually, emotionally, and physically. We appreciate your continued prayer for strength and help as we press on toward being God's instruments for the advancing of the Kingdom in Peru. This job has kept us busy overseeing everything, praying for, counseling, and making family for our 40/40's. We're happy to be where God wants us...at times we have been frustrated, saddened, excited, and encouraged. God continues to give us everything we need to continue this ministry. Anna, Micah, and Sophia are doing well. They have adjusted very well, and we believe that they are speaking better Spanish than we are! Simpson Household Project Heather's
parents, Bob and Sharon Howard came to visit us two weeks a
month ago. We had a great time with them, and it was great to
have
their encouragement. While they were here we all worked on
many
projects to improve the apartment we live in. It is
interesting
doing
construction in another country where building standards are different
and where there is a lack of good tools and supplies, but we were able
to accomplish much despite the difficulties! It looks so much
nicer
and livable now. It is so very nice to have people
visit.
Several of
our 40/40's have and will have family visit. It is a great
encouragement. We look forward to next week when Kevin's
parents
will
visit for 2 weeks as well!Thank you, again, for your support and prayer. We look forward to seeing you in December/January when we have a vacation break! May the Resurrected Jesus be with you, The Simpson Family...Kevin, Heather, Anna, Micah, and Sophia |
